PHOTOS: Powerful storms bring scary skies, flooding rains to Ontario

Many in southern Ontario had a stormy start to the weekend, beginning with the southwest and GTA, where overnight storms roared and continued through early Saturday morning.

Storms sparked up again throughout Saturday afternoon and evening acoss southern and eastern Ontario, including one storm that prompted a brief tornado warning for the Windsor-Essex-Leamington area, which ended before 7 p.m., though severe thunderstorms persisted for that part of the province and areas north of the GTA.

There have been no reports of any touchdowns with the tornado-warned storm.

The storms continued in the evening and overnight with cells moving through southern and eastern Ontario, bringing flash flooding to places such as Kingston, heavy downpours, hail, damaging winds and frequent lightning. A Delta, Ont., campground was reported to have incurred some damage from the storms.

SKIES DARKENED AND LIT UP, STREETS FLOODED, WARNINGS ISSUED

The multiple rounds of storms Saturday prompted many residents in southern Ontario to post visuals on social media. The southwestern tornado-warned storm, in particular, lead to numerous posted photos of the visually stunning storm approaching Leamington.

As well, the flash flooding in Kingston elicited quite a bit of video from social media users. Here is a selection of what made the rounds online.
